THE ROCK
Are you building your life on a solid foundation?
Are you?
Jesus concluded His sermon on the mount. His admonition was plain. Build your life on the Rock, not on sand.
Rain fell. Streams rose. Winds blew. The house stood firm. An ordinary house. An extraordinary foundation. The foundation did not stop the rain nor the wind. The foundation kept the house from falling when they came. The Rock does not alter life's storms. The Rock keeps one from falling during the storms. The Rock is not affected by the tempest because of WHO He is. Those who place their full weight upon the Rock can't be moved because of WHERE they are.
Evangelists tumble. Publications fold. Brotherhood issues change. The foolish fall. There stands the Rock! Unmoved. Unchanged. The wise are where they always were: on the Rock.
Jesus' two options: The Rock; sand. Your choice.
Are you built on shifting sand or on the Rock of ages?
Out of the rubble in the sand an assortment of voices mumble:
My man.
My publication.
My issue.
My church.
From the top of the solid rock one clear, distinct word is uttered:
JESUS!
